#Janathon Day 17: parkrunning again

Many thanks to NiallS for the photo above from this morning’s parkrun. Driving, freezing rain gave way to a beautiful winter’s morning just in time for today’s run. Over 600 parkrunners braved the cold, and at times icy run.

Spotted on this morning’s run: icy blue skies, scratched with early contrails and deathly slippery icy black paths – a freshly pressed winter’s morning straight from factory; a throng of fellow parkrunners, some in vests and tiny shorts, others ready for a wintry Everest – but all here and lapping those at home as the saying goes; marshals acting like doting parents, guiding us unruly toddlers round patches of lethal ice; the river Taff still fat with rainwater angrily racing us along and a gracious old timer who let me past with a ‘well done’ as we closed on the finish.
