Looking at the weather around the rest of the country, I thought I’d be running through sleet and ice this morning. Or even ‘thundersnow’ – whatever that is. There’s definitely a lot of new and exciting terms for weather since I did my Geography A-level. Anyhow. The sun shone, it was another good run and it feels like just reward for the struggles of early January, when I got soaked on a daily basis.
Spotted on this morning’s run: throngs of Cathays High pupils converging on school gates, a Friday bounce evident in most steps; the sun bouncing and dazzling on a full, calm Taff; the Millennium Stadium, our fortress for a million hopes and dreams, looking bright and ready and inviolable; a photographer watching and snapping a family of merrily splashing water birds; and runners, cyclists and walkers making hay while the sun shines.
